The 20 Most Dangerous Cities in the United States

6. Rockford, Illinois

Rockford, Ill is listed as the fifth worst city in the nation for crime. It has had an increase in violent crimes over the past recent years. Statistics show that out of 10,000 residents, 76 were the victim of a violent crime, and there were 760 violent crimes per 100,000 residents. The murder rate for 2016 alone, was the highest it’s been in 20 years. City officials say there are a complex series of factors that are contributing to this high crime rate and they are trying to address the issues.
