Baltimore is a beautiful city that brings in a lot of tourists, however, it is also a city with a very high crime rate that shows a 128% higher than average rate than the national average for the city as compared to the national average. It has an overall higher crime rate compared to the state of Maryland as a rate of 135% higher. Violent crimes committed in Baltimore are 236% higher than the state’s average, and 312% higher than our national average. When it comes to the property crimes in Baltimore, they rank 115% higher than Maryland’s overall, and 100% higher than the US national average. Baltimore is listed as the sixth most dangerous cities.
