The Gateway to the west, city, St. Louis, MO, is at the top of the list for the most dangerous cities in the US. 188 murders were reported in 2015 and 5,672 violent crimes in 2015. This is one of the most recent data statistic reports and although it shows that violent crimes are down, overall, over the past 5 years by 3.2%, the crime rate is considerably higher than most other states around the country. It has been listed as the most dangerous city.
