The Top 20 Celebrity Pools in the United States
By now, we all know that there are plenty of celebrities who aren’t afraid to flaunt their wealth, whether they do it by purchasing ultra-expensive cars by Maybach, Bentley, and Rolls Royce or huge mansions that include every possible extra, including a breathtaking swimming pool that rivals those at resorts all over the world. The truth is that swimming pools are quite common among celebrity homes, which is why some celebrities opt to show off their riches by taking their pool to the next level.
From lagoon-style pools complete with grottos, waterfalls, and swim-up bars to magnificent infinity-edge marvels that look out over the ocean, some celebrities have spared no expense when creating their own backyard oasis. In fact, several celebrities own private pools that easily make some of the pools at the world’s top resorts look average at best. To give you an idea of just how extravagant celebs can get, here’s a look at the 20 most lavish celebrity pools in the United States.
1. Mark Wahlberg
Mark Wahlberg’s gorgeous lagoon-style swimming pool has everything from a waterslide and hidden grotto spa to multiple rock waterfalls, including one that reaches 12 feet in height. Thanks to the lush landscaping, complete with palm trees and natural rock wall, surrounding it, the pool better resembles a tropical oasis than a backyard pool. A real sand beach, along with several comfy lounge chairs and three cabanas, sit alongside it, providing great views of the canyon. Ultimately, Mark and his growing family decided to move on, selling the house (and the amazing pool) for $12.995 million. If you’re interested, the house is currently back on the market for $15.995. No changes have been made to the pool.
2. Wilmer Valderrama
Wilmer spent $300,000 having this resort-style pool added to his Tarzana, CA estate, where it quickly became the site of several legendary parties, despite the tranquil vibes it gives off. Located beside a lush Japanese garden that adds to its overall appeal, the pool features a beach entry, hidden grotto and spa, waterfalls, and a waterslide. Sadly, Wilmer had to leave the pool behind when he sold the property for $1.75 million. Apparently, he decided he needed a more secluded property after multiple noise complaints by the neighbors led to several visits by the police. Most of those noise complaints were related to his epic pool parties.
3. Jeff Bridges
Situated at the end of a stream that meanders around the star’s 19.5 acre estate in Montecito, CA (known as Villa Santa Lucia), this pond-shape, stone-edged pool leads to a relaxing hot springs. Next to the pool, an elevated deck and outdoor fireplace provide a place to sit and take in the natural beauty. After serving as the backdrop for his daughter’s fairy tale wedding, Jeff and his wife chose to sell the property for $16 million in 2015.
4. Cindy Crawford
Perched well above the Malibu coastline, Cindy Crawford’s gorgeous infinity-edge pool lines up perfectly with the Pacific Ocean, creating what appears to be an endless ocean right outside her back door. Although this pool is a bit smaller than some of the others on this list, it is no less amazing. The pool is surrounded by natural stone terraces, including one with a spa, that lead down to the beach, as well as lush shrubs and palm trees that provide privacy and create a natural setting.
5. Jim Parsons
Set amidst a tropical garden on the LA hillside, the Big Bang Theory star’s kidney-shaped swimming pool is not only naturally beautiful, but also provides epic views of the canyon and city below. Made from and surrounded by stone, the 1,400 sq. ft. pool has underwater lighting that gives it an eerily beautiful glow as the sun goes down. Lance Armstrong’s pool, along with its stone cabana flanked by gothic lanterns, outdoor fireplace, stone patio with plenty of chaise lounges, and gorgeous landscaping are the highlight of his Austin, TX estate. The pool is surrounded by antique wooden furniture, which fits in perfectly with the natural setting.

Pieces of travertine cut in irregular sizes and shapes surround it, accenting the lines of the pool. A Jacuzzi is situated at one end of the pool, while a water slide is located at the other. The entire area is surrounded by a stone walkway and expertly landscaped grounds. Chris leases the property for $45,000 a month.
13. Cher
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Cher’s Malibu, CA estate, the superstar’s infinity-pool appears to run off the edge of the property directly into the ocean below. The underwater lights ensure that she can swim day or night, while the multiple couches and chaise lounges on the left provide a spot to rest after a long swim.
15. Denise Richards
Denise Richards’s stunning backyard pools could easily be confused for one at a high-end resort. One pool features a beach entrance and is shallow, making it ideal for her three kids, while the pool sitting beside it is a bit deeper, which is perfect for swimming. Several waterfalls and a unique swim-in grotto with a spa enhance the pool’s overall appeal. When you really think about it, the entire backyard is perfect for a fabulous pool party, thanks to the spectacular pools, custom cabana, outdoor kitchen, and lush greenery.
16. Celine Dion
No list of celebrity pools is complete unless Celine Dion’s former backyard waterpark is included on it. Although she sold the Jupiter Island, FL property in 2017, it easily remains one of the top celeb pools of all time. Made up of multiple pools, the 500-gallon waterpark includes two water slides, a lazy river that runs through it, a footbridge, water cannons, and even a tree house with a short slide into the water. Although you can’t see it in this photo, the pool also has a sunken fire pit and seating area.
17. Jay Z and Beyonce
It shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that the two members of hip-hop royalty made sure the Bel Air home they purchased for $88 million in 2017 included an over-the-top swimming pool. In fact, the property includes four infinity-edge pools, including one that sits on the rooftop and provides excellent views of the city below. To get from one pool to the other, they can just take the marble steps that connect each level.
18. Will and Jada Smith’s Lagoon-Style Pool
Located right outside the couple’s 25,000 sq. ft., $42 million dollar adobe mansion in Malibu, this resort-size, free-form pool is nothing short of amazing. The orange cushions provide a pop of color in what is an otherwise very natural setting.
19. Eddie Murphy
Referred to as “the crown jewel of Los Lagos,” Eddie Murphy’s former pool in Granite Bay, CA allows for full views of Folsom Lake, the Sierra Nevada foothills, and the Sacramento skyline. The massive infinity pool includes a separate whirlpool and is surrounded by a huge patio with palm trees wrapped in Christmas lights, giving it a festive look. Although the home and pool were built for Eddie and his family, he sold it for $6.1 million in 2007, a year after his divorce from wife, Nicole, was finalized.
20. Drake’s Backyard Pool
While it is true that all of the pools on this list are truly spectacular, Drake’s pool stands out above them all. Located behind his Hollywood Hills YOLO estate, the pool was designed with the intention of outdoing the pool and grotto at the Playboy Mansion. Thanks to its gorgeous cascading waterfalls, 80 foot long rock water slide, swim-in grotto, swim up bar, and bridge leading to a sunken sitting area and gas fire pit, the pool has managed to do just that. The pool is made even better by the lush landscaping, mature trees, and stone decking that borders it. The result is a true backyard oasis.
