Giada De Laurentiis is Selling Her $7 Million Pacific Palisades Home
The famous Food Network Chef, Giada De Laurentiis, recently sold her 6,500 square foot contemporary Pacific Palisades home for $7 million, which just happens to be the price she was asking. According to LA Times, the 5 bedroom, 5 and 1/2 bath home is situated in the Via Bluffs and boasts beautiful oceanic views, as well as stunning views of the Santa Monica Mountains. De Laurentiis’ open floor-plan home has lots of amazing features that make it oh, so stylish, yet it’s a perfect example of a highly functional home for entertaining family and friends, something I’m sure she has done a lot of in her breathtaking home. As beautiful as it is, Giada De Laurentiis is selling her $7 million Pacific Palisades home, and you can have a peek inside.
Kitchen
Many areas come together in this area of the home. The elongated, galley-style kitchen boasts a 24-foot island, according to Realtor, that’s set up with a grilling area and sink. Sleek contemporary cabinets pair well with the stop-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and range hood. At the far end of the kitchen is the beautiful breakfast table set that overlooks the swimming pool and patio through the large glass wall. There’s definitely no lack of natural light in this room.
Dining room
The formal dining area is situated off the kitchen, and positioned right between the more casual family room, and a floor-to-ceiling dual-sided fireplace. Modern style dining chairs in two solid colors of burgundy and gray, surround the long, rectangular wood table. Hanging above the table, De Laurentiis has chosen a stunning contemporary chandelier that sparkles the same as the fire in the fireplace and makes a perfect focal point for the area.
Living room
Behind the dual-sided fireplace is a more formal living area where you’ll find plenty of sleek, contemporary-styled furniture, from the contemporary-styled glass and brass coffee table, the pair of modern-style chairs, and the bold red, low-sitting wrap-around sofa that adds the perfect amount of punch of color to the room. There is recessed lighting galore in the ceilings, which give each room the perfect amount of light when the natural just might not be enough.
Master bedroom
The same neutral tones can be found in De Laurentiis’ master bedroom. Tans, beige, creams and whites are found everywhere, from the light natural wood flooring to the two-toned area rug under the bed. A plush, faux-fur chaise lounge sits up against a wall of flat screens, and is the perfect spot to kick back with a good book at the end of the day.
Master bathroom
The master bathroom is elegant and classy with the use of marble and glass throughout. Marble can be seen in the showers, encasing the soaking tub, the flooring and countertops. A large plush throw rug covers a large portion of the floor for a warm, soft look and feel to the space, and the large round pincushion-style seat is the perfect addition to give the bathroom a spa-like appeal. The use of glass throughout not only works well with all the neutral tones, but it helps to create the look and feel of a larger space, while adding to the contemporary look De Laurentiis has mastered as her interior design theme.
Pool and patio
The view of the home from this angle is nothing less than spectacular. Off the back of the house is a glass wall that separates the inside from the out so you get unobstructed views of the sparkling pool from inside the home, and unobstructed views of the beautifully decorated inside, while out by the pool. De Laurentiis can cook up a storm out by the pool with the beautiful outdoor kitchen set-up. It’s the perfect place to entertain family and guests; gathering around the pool for a casual dining experience, or enjoying it at the dining table just beyond the patio, inside.
Game room
One thing there’s plenty of in the basement, and that is space. The large, spacious basement serves as an entertainment room, game room, wine storage and there’s a bar. De Laurentiis makes use of all the open space, easily creating a multi-functional room with a ping-pong table, movie and entertainment area, seating areas for relaxing with a drink, a table for eating or games, and even a bar for serving up a glass of win, straight out of her wine room. De Laurentiis uses lots of contemporary decorative elements, from modern style chairs in bold shades of yellow, to the wall-hanging art throughout the room.
Game room
The downstairs offers a large space for a game room, plus has a large walk-in wine room. One of the most unique features of the downstairs area is the windows. According to Yahoo, there are windows high on a wall that have direct views into the swimming pool. If you look above, you can see a swimmer swim by, which isn’t something you see every day in someone’s home.
Wine room
The walk-in wine room is a beautiful contemporary addition to De Laurentiis’ home and matches her decor theme throughout the rest of the home. Black trim highlight the glass and dark walls inside. Blue lights glow inside, adding a contemporary ambiance for the space where bottles are neatly arranged along the wall, chilled and ready for selection.
Gym
Getting a good workout in is easy when you’ve got your own home gym set up in your own home. And if the top of the line workout equipment isn’t enough to get you inspired, how about the oceanic scenes on the walls to give you the look and feel of a workout on the beach? And the light oak floors are the perfect choice to help enhance the look by giving the room a more natural, beachy appeal.
