1. Cheap
For one of the cheapest ways to get a different look to your headboard, try using an old rattan screen that you can paint and add decorations to. Rattan is a cheap material and you can find one in different types of stores. Once you have one that fits your bed frame, try painting it the color you want and add some decorations of choice to the screen to give it a unique look.
2. Modern twist
Just about anything goes in the way of deco ideas, today. One idea that is not only modern, but it’s memorable, is turning your headboard into a photo album. Why not use a favorite photo to create the backdrop of your headboard? This could be a scenery picture or image picture. Have the photo transferred to a piece of canvas the size of your headboard. The canvas will be attached to a piece of plywood, first, over padding that is ultimately put on your headboard. This is one way to give your headboard personality, as well, give you sweet dreams with a favorite photo of yours seen every night when you crawl into bed.
3. Rustic
You can take pieces of wood and varnish or stain them any way you want to give them a rustic look and use them as your headboard. Choose a straight piece of wood that is rustic looking, in that it has character with knots or grooves, cracks or other characteristics, but definitely straight. Stain or varnish it to your color of choice and attach it to your bed frame.
