He is predominantly associated with the hip hop and alternative music genres and has been described as influencing other artists within these genres. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 30, 1984, Kid Cudi began his career in the music industry in 2003. He has won two Grammy Awards for his music and is the founder of Wicked Awesome Records and Mad Solar. Throughout his career in music, he has worked alongside many other successful artists. These include Michael Bolton, Kendrick Lamar, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, David Guetta, Eminem, Jay-Z, and MGMT. Although he is best known for his music, Kid Cudi has also dabbled in acting, and his first television appearance was in the HBO series ‘How to Make It in America.’ Other television series in which he has appeared include ‘Westworld,’ ‘One Tree Hill,’ ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ and ‘The Cleveland Show.’ He has also appeared in many films, including ‘Goodbye World,’ ‘Need for Speed,’ ‘Entourage,’ and ‘Bill and Ted Face the Music’. In his personal life, Kid Cudi has been in some high-profile relationships, although he is now single. From one of the relationships, Cudi became a father to his daughter, Vada Wamwene Mescudi. So that he could spend time with his daughter, Cudi purchased a home in Chicago. However, a lot of Cudi’s work is based in California, so it is important that he has a base close to his work. The rapper has recently purchased a mansion in Calabasas for the price tag of $7.7 million, and here is an overview of the property.
An Overview of Kid Cudi’s Estate
The place in which Kid Cudi has decided to set up his home is in Calabasas, which is an increasingly popular suburb on the western side of Los Angles in the San Fernando Valley. He has bought a $7.7 million estate within a small but prestigious gated enclave. Overall, the Mediterranean-style property measures just under 9,000-square-feet, and it boasts six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The property, which was built in 2001, is set in 11.5-acres of grounds.
The Interior of the Mediterranean-Style Mansion
Through the front door of the mansion, there is a circular, double-height foyer painted in bright white. A curved wooden staircase with wrought iron balustrades rises against either side of the foyer and leads to a balcony area on the upper level. The foyer boasts stone flooring, and a glass table sits in a central position as a focal point. There is access to the rooms on both the lower and upper levels of the two-story mansion from the foyer. The stone floors continue through to the main living space, which is also painted white. There is a large white fireplace on one wall, and dual aspect windows are overlooking the grounds. These flood the room with light. Further space for relaxing is available in the family room, which has a wall-mounted television above the white fireplace. Just like the living room, the family room has dual aspect windows and double glass doors leading out to the garden. There is room to accommodate a 10-seat dining suite with a glass-topped dining table in the formal dining room. Tall, slim windows flank the double glass doors that lead to the garden. In this room, there are stone floors, white walls, and ceiling spotlights.
The massive kitchen has the same white color scheme and stone flooring as the rest of the lower floor of the mansion. Not only are the walls painted white, but the cabinetry is also white and topped with gray and white marble countertops. Two large islands dominate the center of the kitchen. While both islands offer extra storage and countertop space, one of them is also fitted with a second sink. In the kitchen, there is an informal dining area next to the French doors. From this vantage point, there are views across the garden and over to the surrounding mountains. Other rooms on the ground floor are a fitness room with an attached bathroom and a media room. The former has the potential for many other uses, such as a home office space or as an additional bedroom for guests. The latter has a darker color scheme than the rest of the property and has stepped flooring for better viewing of the screen. Upstairs, there is a small seating area on the balcony. The balcony leads to most of the property’s bedrooms, including the master suite. In the master retreat, there is a spacious white bedroom with doors opening to a private balcony. There is also a separate sitting area, two walk-in closets, and a white marble bathroom.
A Look at the Extensive Grounds of the Property
A gated driveway leads to a large, brick-paved motor court at the front of the house, and there is plenty of space to park multiple vehicles. There is also an integrated garage that can accommodate up to four cars, says Dirt.com. Most of the estate’s 11.5-acres of grounds are to the property’s rear, and the outdoor space was designed for entertaining. One section of the garden houses a large bar, and built-in barbecue, and a relaxed dining suite, all of which are covered by a Tiki-like structure. One of the garden’s main features is the resort-like swimming pool that is surrounded by boulders and waterfall features and includes a spa and a grotto.
Set behind the pool is a vineyard are on a steep hillside. While the sections of the garden that are closest to the mansion are planned, landscaped, and have specific uses, most of the surrounding grounds are in their ruggedly natural state. The trees and shrubbery on the grounds offer the estate some privacy and give the mansion a rural feel despite the suburban setting.
