An Overview of Prince’s Villa in El Paraiso
Prince married his backing singer, Mayte Garcia, in 1996 on Valentine’s Day. Two years later, he bought the villa in El Paraiso as a gift for his wife. The villa is set in a hillside location that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, the valley, and the El Paraiso golf course, which is one of the best golf courses along the Costa Del Sol. It is also close to many amenities, attractions, and restaurants, as it is just west of Marbella. While they owned the property, Prince and his wife decorated the villa in an elaborate and ornate style. When the couple divorced in 1999, they sold the villa. The décor was not to the new owner’s taste, so they redecorated the property throughout. It is now more tasteful and in a style that is more widely desired. It was then put on the market in 2016 for $5.99 million, although this was later reduced to $5.2 million, says Home Stratosphere.
Inside Prince’s Spanish Villa
Prince’s former Spanish villa measures 7,525-square-feet inside. The first room you enter is the double-height grand foyer, and this stunning room with a marble floor sets the scene for the rest of this impressive villa. There is a sweeping staircase leading from each side of the foyer up to a balcony that runs across the full width of the room. A large door at the rear of the foyer leads to the gardens, and there are arched windows above the balcony. Roman-style pillars sit at each side of the steps leading into the formal living room. The high ceilings, neutral walls, and floor-to-ceiling arched windows give this room a sense of space and light. At one end of the room, there is a fireplace with a white surround that is set in an arched alcove.
In the dining room, there is an element of grandeur. The room has floor-to-ceiling paned windows on three sides, so there are views of the gardens no matter in which place you sit at the long dining table. Blue curtains hang between each of the windows. The kitchen has been fitted to the highest standard, with modern red and white gloss units that offer plenty of storage space and white countertops. In the center of the kitchen, there is an island with matching white countertops and built-in cupboards with red gloss doors. Not only does the island offer additional countertop space, but it is also an informal dining space with four breakfast bar stools.
All six bedrooms in this property are suites, as each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Two of the six bedrooms are master suites. The primary of the two master suites covers two levels, so it offers both sleeping accommodation and private living space. Although there are six ensuite bathrooms, there is also a large and impressive shared bathroom that is truly luxurious. There is matching marble on the walls and floor, and two steps lead up to a Roman-style sunken marble bath. Set into an alcove in the lower section of the bathroom is a sink unit with in-built storage for toiletries. At the far end of the bathroom, a large, arched window overlooks the gardens. On either side of the window is a small, curtained changing room.
The Exterior of the Property
The villa is set on 1.45 acres of grounds that are walled to give privacy and a sense of seclusion. The exterior of the two-story property is a typical Spanish villa style, with light terracotta stucco walls, white-framed windows, and flat roofs. The upper floor boasts balconies, while the lower floor is surrounded by a small wall topped with short pillars. One of the most notable features from the exterior of the property is the arched windows. In the landscaped grounds, there are subtropical plants and trees, and a huge lawned area to the rear of the property. There are 2,383-square-feet of terraces surrounding the property. These provide plenty of outdoor space for entertaining guests, alfresco dining, and relaxing in the Spanish sunshine.
There are also plenty of opportunities for enjoying leisure activities and enjoying the outdoors at this villa. Not only is there a large pool, but there is also a tennis court. If the homeowner invites friends down to play a leisurely tennis match or for a pool party, they can securely park their car as there is a three-car garage. Likewise, the large garage means that the property is suitable for a multi-car family who needs to park all their cars securely.
