Due to the success of his career, EltonJohn has become an extremely rich man, Wealthy Gorilla says that Elton John’s net worth is estimated at $500 million. He has spent his wealth on various things, an extensive and elaborate wardrobe, one of the world’s largest private collections of photography, and a collection of cars. Elton John has also spent money on multiple properties across the globe, and he has recently added to this by purchasing a home in Trousdale Estates for $8.5 million.
Elton John’s Substantial Real Estate Portfolio
With multiple properties across the globe, Elton John can take his pick of locations where he wants to spend his time. His main residence is a vast mansion called Woodside in Old Windsor, Berkshire, England. He also has a second property in the UK, as he owns a house in Holland Park, London. His other properties are a lavish house in Venice, a humungous condo in Atlanta, and a house on Mont Boron in Nice. Furthermore, Elton John and his husband David Furnish are longstanding residents of Los Angeles. Previously, they owned two neighboring apartments in the Sierra Towers skyscraper in West Hollywood. The apartment overlooked Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. John and Furnish then sold off both properties to two different buyers. One was bought by the CEO of Accenture, one of the world’s largest IT services companies, while an unnamed woman from Mainland China purchased the other. John currently owns a house in Beverly Hills that sits on half an acre of land. He bought the 4,300-square-foot property in 2012 for $7.3 million. Since buying that house, John and Furnish have spent a significant amount renovating and upgrading the property. It is now decorated in vibrant colors throughout. Now, Elton John has bought the neighboring property in Trousdale Estates, Beverly Hills, which also sits on half an acre. If he conjoins the two plots, he has two houses and an acre of grounds to do with as he wishes.
An Overview of His New Home in Trousdale Estates
The neighboring property purchased by Elton John and his husband David Furnish is an $8.5 million estate in Trousdale Estates that was built in 1968. The mid-century-modern house sits on a lot measuring 0.47-acres, and the interior measures 5,343-square-feet. The sale of the house was completed off-market, so specific details of the previous owner are unknown. However, it is known that a non-famous couple resided in the property for several decades. Records also show that they faced foreclosure on more than one occasion.
Inside the Mid-Century-Modern House
Due to the sale taking place off-market, interior photographs are limited, and details about the layout are sketchy. It is believed that some modernizations have taken place, although John and Furnish will undoubtedly want to put their own stamp on the place. They may choose to add some vibrant color to the interior as they have with the neighboring property. One detail that is known about the house is that it offers spacious public areas, so there is plenty of room for John and Furnish to entertain. Similarly, there are enough bedrooms, a total of five, to have friends and family to stay.
The External Space at Elton John’s New Beverly Hills Home
The value of Elton John’s home likely lies in the size of the lot. At almost half an acre, considerable space outdoors is available to take full advantage of the California climate. Combined with the similarly sized neighboring lot, John and Furnish will have a substantial amount of external space. Currently, the landscaping on the grounds is a little untidy, but nothing that cannot be resolved. There is certainly the potential to landscape the grounds to create different areas for leisure and entertaining. Despite the poor condition of the grounds, there are some excellent views from the garden, as Trousdale Estates is a neighborhood at the highest point of Beverly Hills. Most of the garden is covered in a grassy lawn, although there is space to add a terrace, deck, or patio where John can entertain guests or enjoy alfresco dining. There is also an outdoor swimming pool where John, Furnish, and their two sons can have some fun and cool off from the Californian sunshine. The garden is surrounded by tall hedges that give John and Furnish some privacy from the neighbors on the other side. They will need to remove the hedges on one side if they intend to combine the two properties they own. The single-story house is painted mustard yellow, so Elton John may want to give the property a lick of paint. However, while the house may currently lack external appeal, it benefits from a large motor court to the front, says Dirt.com. The motor court offers plenty of space to park multiple vehicles, so John can line up some of the cars in his extensive collection outside the house.
