Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez’s New $6.6 Million Malibu Home
No celebrity power couple is complete without a beautiful estate – especially one that also doubles as the perfect oceanfront hideout. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have decided to prove once and for all that they can flex with the best of them by purchasing an incredible $6.6M home Malibu, CA. The home, which was previously owned by actor/comedian, Jeremy Piven, features three stories and is located right on the water. Sources say that Piven bought the home for $3.5M in 2004 and spent upwards of $1M on renovations for before putting it on the market in 2017. The property was initially listed for $10.5M but was reduced after sitting on the market. Although the couple snagged the property for a pretty good deal, this property has all of the features and amenities to compete with homes with much higher values.
The home has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and a beautiful wraparound deck. Although the home is in great shape, there’s still some tweaking that needs to be done in order to make it perfect for Lopez and Rodriguez. According to recent reports, J.Lo will be working with HGTV”s Joanna Gaines to renovate the home. Since J.Lo is a huge fan of Gaines’ work, there’s a good chance that no expense will be spared in the process. Although there are currently no details on what the pair plans to do, Gaines will be tasked with combining Lopez’ and Rodriguez’ very different tastes.
Lopez says that she she prefers a more cozy vibe that includes pillows and blankets while A. Rod likes a sleek modern look.
The home’s exterior has a stylish yet understated look that makes it the perfect beach front property. As with many luxury homes, there’s much more to this property than meets the eye.
Thanks to Piven’s renovations, the home boasts several touches inspired by Southeast Asia including a beautiful carved wooden swing. The detail in this swing is enough to catch anyone’s attention as soon as they enter the home. The kitchen has been completely updated and includes top of the line appliances as we as spacious breakfast bar. But the kitchen’s most impressive feature is the beautiful ocean view that can be seen from anywhere in the room.
The property has a host of amenities that J.Lo, A Rod, and their guests are sure to enjoy including a home theater, a game room, a spa, a sauna, a yoga space. The home is full of modern touches that add to its overall appeal.
Floor to ceiling windows throughout the home’s living space allow plenty of natural light to flow through the home. The opportunities for natural light are complimented by the home’s open floor plan which is perfect for entertaining. Lopez and Rodriguez will be able to host large gatherings for family and friends with ease.
Watching movies at home is always great, but the experience is even better when you have your own dedicated theater space. This home has the perfect set up for watching all of your favorite films and shows. Oversized chairs allow for comfortable viewing while a large projector screen gives a ‘real’ theater experience.
No ocean front property is complete without lots of opportunities to see the ocean, and that’s something this home has no shortage of. Featuring a large open concept, this bedroom is the perfect place for rest and relaxation. Beautiful open views provide a lovely backdrop to wake up to in the morning. In addition, large windows allow natural light to flow throughout the room with ease – creating a bright and welcoming environment. A spacious sitting area also adds to this bedroom’s luxurious feel.
Most of us spend way more time in the bathroom than we’d like to admit, but with a bathroom like this, who wouldn’t want to? This bathroom is both sleek and modern with a large tub that is great for soaking after a long day. Like many other rooms in the house, this bathroom also has an amazing view of the ocean.
This beautiful property adds to the couple’s already very impressive portfolio. Rodriguez already owns another beachfront home in Florida. As a pair, they also own a $15.3 condo in Manhattan and two homes in southern California. While there’s no official word on how the couple plans to use the property, there’s a pretty good change this home will become the couple’s low key getaway spot.
