David Bernon Buys $11.6 Million Hollywood Hills Mansion

David Bernon is a producer, actor, and partner in a production company from Massachusetts. He is also the son of milk mogul Alan Bernon of Garelick Farms, which the family sold in 1997 for just under $300 million. Not only is David Bernon  a partner in Burn Later Productions, but he has also worked as a producer on ‘Support the Girls’ and ‘Mile 22.’ His work in various aspects of the entertainment industry means that Bernon has become an extremely wealthy man, which is why he can afford to splash out on an $11.6 million estate in the Hollywood Hills. While Vernon’s home is visually stunning, it has a somewhat troubled past. So, let’s take a look at the property’s unique ownership history and what Bernon’s multi-million dollar spend has bought him.

The History of David Bernon’s Hollywood Hills Estate

David Bernon’s new home is a contemporary mansion on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. It has also been home to many other celebrities, and they did not all have happy experiences while living in this property. One person who previously lived in the property was troubled singer Britney Spears. She rented the house while she was in a relationship with singer and actor Justin Timberlake. The house was sold to actress Brittany Murphy in 2003. Tragically, the actress collapsed at the property in 2009 and later died. The tragic story continued when Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, died in the house only months later. Following the deaths of Murphy and Monjack, the house was bought by a property developer. The developer took the house down to the studs and completely revamped it, creating the house that stands on the ground today.

Another owner of the estate who did not fare well was Craig Clemens, the founder of Golden Hippo Media. His company is a brand builder that specializes in health and wellness startups, and his career success meant that he could afford to splash out $14.5 million on the property in 2017. Clemens put the house on the market just a year later, but the house remained on the market unsold for two years until 31-year-old David Bernon eventually bought it. However, he only paid $11.5 million for the estate, which is almost $3 million under the asking price. Therefore, Clemens made a significant financial loss on the estate. Despite making a loss on the sale, it did not stop Clemens from moving on to bigger and better things. Although his new home was never officially on the market, it was reported that he bought an estate in the prestigious Pacific Palisades neighborhood for $19.1 million.
