David Bernon Buys $11.6 Million Hollywood Hills Mansion

David Bernon is a producer, actor, and partner in a production company from Massachusetts. He is also the son of milk mogul Alan Bernon of Garelick Farms, which the family sold in 1997 for just under $300 million. Not only is David BernonĀ  a partner in Burn Later Productions, but he has also worked as a producer on ‘Support the Girls’ and ‘Mile 22.’ His work in various aspects of the entertainment industry means that Bernon has become an extremely wealthy man, which is why he can afford to splash out on an $11.6 million estate in the Hollywood Hills. While Vernon’s home is visually stunning, it has a somewhat troubled past. So, let’s take a look at the property’s unique ownership history and what Bernon’s multi-million dollar spend has bought him.

The History of David Bernon’s Hollywood Hills Estate

David Bernon’s new home is a contemporary mansion on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. It has also been home to many other celebrities, and they did not all have happy experiences while living in this property. One person who previously lived in the property was troubled singer Britney Spears. She rented the house while she was in a relationship with singer and actor Justin Timberlake. The house was sold to actress Brittany Murphy in 2003. Tragically, the actress collapsed at the property in 2009 and later died. The tragic story continued when Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, died in the house only months later. Following the deaths of Murphy and Monjack, the house was bought by a property developer. The developer took the house down to the studs and completely revamped it, creating the house that stands on the ground today.

Another owner of the estate who did not fare well was Craig Clemens, the founder of Golden Hippo Media. His company is a brand builder that specializes in health and wellness startups, and his career success meant that he could afford to splash out $14.5 million on the property in 2017. Clemens put the house on the market just a year later, but the house remained on the market unsold for two years until 31-year-old David Bernon eventually bought it. However, he only paid $11.5 million for the estate, which is almost $3 million under the asking price. Therefore, Clemens made a significant financial loss on the estate. Despite making a loss on the sale, it did not stop Clemens from moving on to bigger and better things. Although his new home was never officially on the market, it was reported that he bought an estate in the prestigious Pacific Palisades neighborhood for $19.1 million.

Inside David Bernon’s Impressive New Home

David Bernon’s Sunset Strip home measures 9,400-square-feet and boasts five bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms. It sits in an elevated position on a hillside, so Bernon can enjoy views of the Los Angeles basin from many of the rooms and from the grounds. It is a split-level property with living space and bedrooms on various levels throughout the house, with wide staircases leading to each of the levels. Once through the front door, a staircase leads to a great room that is lined with floor-to-ceiling windows to give a sense of a shared indoor-outdoor space. The great room has hardwood flooring and recessed lighting throughout, and it is divided into a cozy sitting area, a dining space that seats ten people, and an open-plan kitchen. In the kitchen area, there is a combination of wood and dark gray contemporary cabinetry, dark gray countertops, and modern stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is separated from the dining space by a large, dark gray island with a sink and a light wooden breakfast bar section for informal dining.

The master suite is one of the most impressive rooms in the house, and it has sliding glass doors leading out to a decked balcony with glass walls, so Bernon can sit outside and enjoy the views of L.A. Inside, the huge bed is angled to take advantage of the views across the city below and across the Pacific Ocean. In the bedroom, there is a sitting area that offers a quiet space away from the open-plan great room, with the furniture arranged around a modern recessed fireplace below a wall-mounted television. Like the great room, the master suite boasts dark hardwood flooring and recessed lighting. The master suite also boasts dual bathrooms that have dark gray tiled walls and gray marble fixtures. There are also dual shower room closets that offer plenty of storage space for clothes and shoes. Bernon’s new pad is a technologically advanced property that boasts a Creston home automation system that allows the homeowner to fully control the cameras, sound, and lights remotely. Other impressive features of the property include a smart home office, a massage room, and a backlit wine closet.

A driveway leads to the front of the house and an attached three-car garage. A staircase then leads to the glassy front doors, while another staircase leads directly to the decking area and pool. To the rear of the house, there is a wide wooden deck that spans the full width of the property, and this is set up with a dining area and outdoor lounge furniture so that the homeowner can relax outdoors or enjoy an alfresco meal. There is a further patio area with seating to the side of the house, and this also boasts a barbecue area for outdoor food preparation. One of the garden’s most impressive features is the infinity pool with an in-built spa section, which has spectacular views. Around the pool, there is a paved poolside lounge area alongside a small lawn. The grounds have mature trees on either side that offer the homeowner and their guests some privacy while they relax in the garden.
