In 2013, Achille Salvagni expanded his business interests when he opened studios in Italy and the United States devoted to his limited-edition lighting and furniture. The architect later opened another studio in Mayfair, London, where he could showcase his latest designs. Despite have studios in three countries, Salvagni continued to run his architectural practice, designing stunning homes for the high-end market. One of these has recently been listed for a staggering $19 million, and here is a look at the mid-century-style home in Miami Beach.
An Overview of the Salvagni Designed Property
An international client commissioned Salvagni to design the interior and exterior of the house, which is in Miami Beach, Florida. Initially, the client intended to live in the house, but travel complications due to the COVID-19 pandemic mean that they have now decided to sell. The 7,951-square-feet property sits on an 0.35-acre plot and boasts seven bedrooms and 6.5-bathrooms. It was originally listed for $21 million, but the price has since dropped to $19 million. The property has never been lived in, and luxury is evident throughout. If potential buyers are willing to splash out an additional $1.2 million, they can keep all the artwork and furniture that is currently in the property.
Inside the Stunning Miami Beach Pad
Internally, a vast array of luxurious materials have been used throughout the Miami Beach house, including Belgium black marble, natural and brushed oak, polished French mahogany, Negresco, Malyat limestone, and Verde Alpi. The overall effect combines modern design with retro touches that reflect the midcentury inspiration. Furthermore, most of the custom furniture in the home was designed by Salvagni, and the designer personally chose the rest to enhance the aesthetics of the property. Some of the designers and artists responsible for the artwork and furniture in the property include FontanaArte, Angelo Lelli, Paolo Buffa, Serge Mouille, and Marco Zanuso. There are some notable features of the interior design that appear throughout the house. For example, there are many curvilinear walls, large windows, white paintwork, accessories that add pops of color to each room, and dark wood trim. An entry gallery leads through to the main living space, which is split over two levels. The main living room is double-height with curved walls and a fireplace. This lower-level room is divided into two sitting areas.
One half is double height with floor-to-ceiling windows, while the other half sits below the mezzanine level. A bronze and wood staircase leads to a lofted lounge above the main living room, and a Yves Klein-blue enameled column supports this. A formal dining space is partially separated from the living area by a dark wood wall. Sliding glass doors lead from the dining room to a patio area. The dining is currently furnished with a yellow-glass circular dining table and six chairs set on an irregularly shaped rug. However, there is room for a significantly larger dining suite. The lower cabinets are coated in gold leaf in the kitchen, while the upper cabinets have a glossy white finish.
An oval-shaped kitchen island sits centrally, and it has an extended section that acts as an informal dining space. Both the cabinets and the kitchen island have marble countertops. Other rooms on the lower level of the house include a yoga room and a steam room. There is also access from the lower story to the integrated garage. This Miami Beach home boasts seven bedrooms and 6.5-bathrooms, and these are split over both levels of the two-story property. One of the guest bedrooms on the lower floor has sliding glass doors leading out to the yard and one dramatic feature wall with ridged dark wood and a large piece of artwork. There is enough space in the large master suite in the main bedroom to accommodate a large bed and a seating area. An angled wall divides the bedroom from the dressing area and ensuite bathroom. One half of the dividing wall has a marble finish, while the other half is paneled in dark wood with an inlaid pattern. On this section of the wall, there is also a retro fireplace.
The Grounds of the Luxurious Home in Miami Beach
Externally, the house has a white painted smooth finish with some sections paneled in hardwood. Despite being a brand-new home that has a modern appearance, the mid-century design influence is clear due to the irregular shape of the structure. To the front of the house, there is a small lawn area with mature palm trees. A paved motor court leads to the front of the double integrated garage, and a pathway leads to the steps at the house’s front door. Although the Salvagni-designed house sits on a relatively small plot of just 0.35-acres, the exterior is beautifully designed to make the most of the space. The design has resulted in a yard that has everything the new homeowner will need to relax, dine, and entertain in the outdoor space. Directly behind the house is a limestone terrace that is ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining. There is also an outdoor kitchen and a cabana. Beyond the terrace, there is a 90-foot-long infinity pool, says Dirt.com. The pool is lined on one side with palm trees, and there are narrow strips of lawn on either side. The property sits in a waterfront position on Surprise Lake, which connects the Intercoastal Waterway to Biscayne Bay. There is 111-feet of water frontage at the property, so there are amazing views across the water and direct access to the beach and water from the house. Plus, there is a private dock that the new homeowner can use if they have their own boat.
