Sandra Bullock is one of the world’s most successful and in-demand actresses. The award-winning actress began her career in 1997, and she is known for playing both dramatic and comedic roles. Bullock made her film debut with a small role in the thriller ‘Hangman.’ She then gained further attention for her role in the 1993 action film ‘Demolition Man.’ However, her acting breakthrough was starring in the action-thriller ‘Speed’ in 1994. By the second half of the 1990s, Bullock was an established actress, and she had leading roles in films such as ‘While You Were Sleeping,’ ‘Hope Floats,’ ‘A Time to Kill,’ and ‘The Net.’ Since then, her acting career has gone from strength to strength.
Some of Bullock’s best-known films include ‘Miss Congeniality’ and its sequel, ‘Premonition,’ ‘Two Weeks Notice,’ ‘The Blind Side,’ ‘Crash,’ ‘Ocean’s 8,’ ‘The Proposal,’ ‘The Heat,’ and ‘Gravity. Her most recent role was in the 2018 post-apocalyptic horror film ‘Bird Box.’ Bullock’s next project is a drama film for Netflix, which is currently untitled. She was also included in the 2010 Time’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world and was named by People as the Most Beautiful Woman in 2015. Furthermore, she was the world’s highest-paid actress between 2010 and 2014.
Due to her career success, Sandra Bullock’s net worth is now $200 million, says Wealthy Gorilla. Therefore, she has plenty of money in the bank to spend however she chooses. One way that Sandra Bullock spends her money is on properties, both as homes and as real estate investments. Records show that she now has 17 properties across the United States, including three new purchases in Malibu and Beverley, for which she has paid $16.5 million. Here is an overview of Sandra Bullocks’ real estate portfolio, along with a look at her three most recent purchases.
Sandra Bullock’s Real Estate Portfolio
Records show that Sandra Bullock owns 17 properties across the United States. While some of them are her homes, she has bought others as investment properties. The homes between which she divides her time include a multi-acre estate in Beverley Hills, a $12 million New York City townhouse, a Gothic Victorian mansion in New Orleans, a lakefront mansion in Austin, Texas, and a hilltop compound in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, comprised of two properties. Despite already owning multiple homes and investment properties, Sandra Bullock has made three more property purchases in recent years. In total, she has spent $16.5 million buying two waterfront properties in the same Malibu enclave, plus a 1946 bungalow in Beverley Hills.
Bullock’s New Malibu Pad
The first of the three properties purchased by Bullock is a luxurious home in a guarded Malibu enclave, says Dirt.com. It is a prestigious neighborhood with many rich and famous neighbors, including producer Jon Burton and actress Halle Berry. Bullock’s new oceanfront property was built in 1979. It measures 3,700-square-feet and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms. She paid $8.5 million for this property in June 2018 and used an investment tool called a 1031 exchange, which allows people to swap one investment property for another to defer capital gains taxes. To buy this Malibu property, Bullock sold a small house in the Hollywood Hills that she had bought as an investment property. It is unknown if Bullock intends to live in this property at any point.
The main level has an open floorplan and tiled floors, and there are sliding glass doors leading to the outdoor space. Although the dark wood kitchen has a dated look, it does have expensive stainless steel appliances and white granite countertops. Therefore, there is a mix of old and new in this property. Although there is not a garden to the rear of the property, there are three outdoor spaces on the oceanfront. To the lower level, there is a covered loggia that leads directly onto the beach. The other two floors of the house have full-width, decked balconies that overlook the ocean, and there is direct beach access.
Her Oceanfront Cottage
Two years later, in June 2020, Bullock bought another residence in the same Malibu enclave. She paid $5.3 million for the smaller, single-story cottage, which is just a few doors down from her other property in the enclave. The actress does not intend to live in the property as she put it straight up for lease. The mid-century cottage is painted mint green on the outside and measures 1,300-square-feet internally. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Inside, white walls and pale wood flooring are features that run throughout the property. The living space has floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors leading to the balcony, so Bullock’s tenants can enjoy ocean views from inside the cottage. Like her other Malibu property, the cottage’s outdoor space is a covered balcony overlooking the beach and the ocean. Unlike her other Malibu home, the cottage has additional outdoor space in the form of a decked courtyard. The property also has direct beach access.
The Beverley Hills Bungalow
Bullock’s most recent purchase is a 1946 bungalow in the mountains above Beverley Hills. She paid $2.7 million for the three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom property, which measures 2,800-square-feet internally. She bought the property in February 2021. The recently renovated house boasts open living spaces, a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, white walls, ebony-stained hardwood floors throughout, large windows, and double doors leading from various rooms out to the gardens. There is an English garden-style yard in the front of the house, while the backyard houses a terrace area and a lagoon-style swimming pool with a waterfall feature.
