The Wedge House Is Friendly To The Environment And To Its Inhabitants

Last year, in 2013, SOUP Architects have designed and finished a residential project that is known as the Wedge House and is situated in Surrey, England. The customers requested the team of architects to build a home that would accommodate three family generations. The house is located in the area of a suburban garden and its orientation reduces the overlooking of a residential area from the East and takes advantage of the afternoon sun that comes in from the West.

The purpose of the home is also to offer an experience of relaxation to its inhabitants and it does so through its connection to the surrounding beautiful greenery. The home is also thermally efficient, being well insulated and having a heat recovery ventilation system that reduces the need for heating. There are also solar water panels for water heating and a rain water harvester for other needs. The neutral color palette that paints the inside and outside of the home is a dominating element that leads to a cheerful and eye-pleasing environment.
