In Johannesburg, South Africa, a house from 1970s made a complete turn to what today is the Brian Road residence. Bringing it to a more modern approach, Nico van der Meulen Architects used wisely every little corner to make it look like spectacular. The space is impressive and thought to show opulence in every room, no matter the purpose.
At the ground floor, the attention goes on providing space for social interaction – the living room, study, home theater, or the usual kitchen and guest bedroom. The interior design stays chic and modern, with color tones from earth to black. To break the potential monotony, Tom Dixon spherical copper lamps embellish the place.
Upstairs there’s the bedrooms area, separating these more intimate rooms from the ground zone, where everyone is welcomed. The courtyard hosts a swimming pool and the exotic vegetation gives a beautiful view from the glass walls surrounding the residence.
