Dani Ridge House, located outside of Big Sur California fits perfectly in a décor where grass got burned by the sun and the ocean is just one step away from the inside view. This project by Carver + Schicketanz has just the ground level, but that’s not a problem, as the house spreads on a large space.
The roof has an interesting look, as the uphill land extends on it and so the grass continues to grow on it. Inside, the modern approach is all about offering the superb landscape from outside, including the ocean views, through the floor-to-ceiling windows that replace most of the exterior walls.
White tones of the couch, chairs, bed or lighting fit with the natural color of the wood and stone that somehow makes the home one with the nature. All the utilities are stored underground, in another attempt to protect the wild surroundings.
