Close your eyes for a moment and imagine yourself standing in a magical place, surrounded by mountains, trees, feeling the fresh air and looking into a river which flows below you and sings a soothing song that receives its vocals from the talented birds and some occasional notes provided by the soft wind that cuddles the tree-leaves. Well, imagine doing that from your home. Impossible, right ? Not quite, for a family from North Carolina. They own a cabin which is located in the Great Smoky Mountains and has been designed by Platt Architecture.
The intriguing cabin sits comfortably on stone columns and allows a small river to flow beneath it. The surrounding forest offers some outstanding sights which can be admired from the cabin’s many big windows.
The interior is as rustic as it gets, greeting you with its wood-based design and elements. A fireplace is the star of the show from the living room and it invites everyone to come and sit next to it. A wooden spiral-shaped stairway leads to the second floor of the cabin which hosts a modern and nicely stocked kitchen, among others. The Bridge House is one of the most beautiful homes I’ve seen so far. I wonder if its inhabitants ever get bored of admiring the surroundings.
