The Blackpool House is a project that was accomplished by Glamuzina Paterson Architects in 2012. It’s located in the Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand and has a 47 square meters footprint for the ground floor and 34 for the second. It may seem kind of small, according to these numbers, but it’s being raised on 4 differently sized levels which consist in a living room, kitchen, dining room, a mezzanine library, a bedroom and a bathroom. Its exterior resembles with a tiny mountain and has been designed for following the natural shapes from its surroundings and features a black metallic cladding, thus blending in with the embracing forest, without undermining its natural look, but completing it. The interior of the home has also been designed for matching with the sights and is dominated by wooden elements and decorations. The house features two decks which allow its inhabitants to relax while admiring the impressive views and to enjoy the beauty of the location.
