The Barrier Island House Respects Its Natural Surroundings

Barrier-Island-House-4

When talking about dream homes, I’m almost certain that most of you would imagine their Heaven on earth residence somewhere where the ocean, beach and the sun blend in. A lovely home that enjoys all of these three is the Barrier Island House, a residential project developed in 2012 by the team of architects and designers from Sanders Pace. It is located in a wonderful place, I’m talking about Vero Beach, Florida, USA.

The home is actually a renovation project and consisted in the improvement of a 50 year old structure that wouldn’t have fit the needs of the owners by remaining in its original state. The couple also requested the team to avoid interfering with the vegetation that surrounded the place, preserving the natural landscape and its live oak trees as much as it was possible. The  new residence is spacious and provides its inhabitants with some really pretty views over the beautiful surrounding environment due to the numerous large glass openings.
