9288 Sierra Mar – The Place Where A Rough Entrance Contrasts With Sleek Interiors

We are always delighted by the creations of Whipple Russell Architects and this time the same thing happens. The house on the spotlight is called 9288 Sierra Mar, located in the Hollywood Hills, California, USA. The 3,500 square feet project has been finished back in 2007. Texture and color are two of the elements that make it appear alive and stand out, having a perfect contemporary look.

At the entrance we are hit by rough materials, like polished stone tile, terrazzo floorings, onyx fireplace burning with a golden glow flame, which come all as a contrast with the steel front door and, further, the sleek interiors that we discover. As usual, floor to ceiling windows replace the traditional walls, offering stunning views to below, mostly thanks to the hillside character of the house. Steel insertions contribute to the modern approach in which everything looks flawless.
