The Krampon Residence “Climbs” Its Steep Rocky Site

Krampon-1

The team of architects and designers from Japanese studio Shogo Aratani has developed an impressive residential project that goes by the name of Krampon. We’re going to see a beautiful piece of architecture that climbs a steep rocky site, thus being named after the spikes strapped on shoes for climbing. The residence rises on two levels and is perfectly integrated in the steeping terrain, carefully following its shapes and respecting its natural lines.

For maximizing the views offered by the natural landscape, the social areas are situated on the top floor and feature floor to ceiling glass walls. This way, the interior is also naturally brightened by a big amount of natural light. The rich use of wood also enhances its appearance and warms up the atmosphere, making for a welcoming and cheerful home.
