The 20 Most Expensive Homes in Miami

Ranked the 7th largest luxury real estate market in the world, Miami is home to plenty of fabulous properties, ranging from penthouses in the sky to historical Star Island estates sitting directly on the water. And, with luxury home prices rising 7.5 percent in 2017 from 2016, you can rest assured that the prices aren’t coming down anytime soon. To give you an idea of just what you can find among Miami’s most elite properties, here are the 20 most expensive homes in Miami.

Before we get started, you should know that only homes with a Miami or Miami Beach address are included in this list. Although homes in Key Biscayne, Coral Gables, and Sunny Isles are technically in the Miami area, they have not been included.

In addition to the 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, the home includes a detached guest suite, gym, library with built-in shelves, a media room with wet bar, and several terraces. Outside, the gorgeously landscaped yard features a heated pool and spa, summer kitchen, covered dining area, dock, and 116 ft. of private waterfrontage.

19. 1425 Brickell Ave. PH# 1EFA – $25 million

Located in the prestigious Four Seasons Miami, this 8,803 sq. ft. penthouse looks out over Biscayne Bay from Miami’s tallest residential tower. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, as well as oversized windows in the 6 bedrooms, allow for stunning views of the ocean on one side and the city on the other. The penthouse includes a huge wine cellar, media room, and of course, only the highest quality features. As residents of the Four Seasons, the owner enjoys access to private elevators, a residents-only lounge and pool, gourmet dining services, 24/7 concierge services, limousine services, housekeeping, laundry, and pet care, along with every other luxury amenity they could possibly want. This property is currently on the market, if you are interested and includes a monthly maintenance fee of $7,058.

18. 5446 N. Bay Rd. – $26.5 million

Also currently on the market, this 15,135 sq. ft. private smart house is considered an architectural masterpiece. Alongside the 8 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, you’ll find a chef’s kitchen, library, media room, and gorgeous floating curved staircase. The main living space is enclosed by retractable doors, which makes it easy to enjoy all the home’s exterior has to offer. This includes 3 koi ponds, a 70” infinity pool/ spa, and fabulous views of Miami Beach. Despite being built in 2014, this 2-story home has never been lived in. If it doesn’t offer quite enough space, there’s no reason to worry. Plans for an additional 2,233 sq. ft. have already been approved, allowing you to add on a huge gym, theater, and two staff rooms above the garage.

17. 6440 N Bay Rd. – $26.95 million

Right down the road from the previous home, this 15,000 sq. ft. contemporary-style home is just as spectacular. Built in 2016, the 7-bedroom, 11-bedroom house features plenty of extra touches, including custom Italian doors, architectural niches, and lush landscaping that provides a tropical-zen vibe. Situated in a private wing away from the gym, wine cellar, and home theater, is an additional 2-bedroom guest suite with a private terrace overlooking the 100 ft. of water footage. Outside, an outdoor cabana with retractable awning, infinity pool, and outdoor kitchen leads out to the boat dock.

16. 2001 Collins Ave. PH-B – $27 million

Purchased as a private residence in 2013, this 7,100 sq. ft. penthouse with 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms takes up the entire 40th floor of the 5-star Setai Miami Beach. Also included with the property is a 3,000 sq. ft. rooftop terrace equipped with a private infinity pool and Jacuzzi that allows for unobstructed views of Miami Beach. The interior offers panoramic views from the floor-to-ceiling windows and wraparound balconies, a Bose surround-sound system, gourmet kitchen, handmade Duxiana beds topped with the finest Frette linens, and a unique Art-Deco style. A private parking garage and entrance, as well as 24-hour gourmet dining and concierge services are just a few of the amenities included.

15. 11 Star Island – $27 million

When this property was last purchased by Lennar CEO Stuart Miller for $27 million in 2006, there was no home on the property. Fortunately, he just received approval to go ahead with a ridiculous (in a good way) 2-story mansion and separate guest houses. The home will feature a game room, wine room, and gym, while outside, there will be a lagoon with waterfall, an infinity plunge pool, cabana bar, a dock with plenty of room for yacht parking, and an underground parking lot with enough space for 32 cars. There is no telling what this property will be worth once the project is complete, but it will likely skyrocket to the top of this list.

14. 100 Pointe Dr. #3602 – $27.5 million

Located in Continuum, a resort-style condo community built in 2003, this 7-bedroom, 6 ½-bathroom condo spans 8,229 sq. ft. and is the result of three units being expertly combined into one incredible home. Like the other properties on this list, it features floor-to-ceiling- windows that provide sweeping ocean views. In addition, it includes a state-of-the-art theater, custom lighting, and an upgraded, customized security system with touch panels in every room. The huge wraparound balcony provides the perfect amount of outdoor space. The monthly association fee of $8149 gives residents access to 2 heated lagoon pools, a spa and health club, Olympic gym with professionally hosted exercise classes, tennis courts, restaurants, 12 acres of perfectly landscaped grounds, and too much more to name.

13. 4730 N Bay Rd. – $27.95 million

It’s back to N Bay Rd., where you’ll find this newly built 14,000 sq. ft. Neo-classical Bayfront estate. The property includes 130 ft. of water footage and a meticulously maintained outdoor space complete with lap pool, covered sitting area with fireplace, waterfront cabana, and boat dock. Inside, the 7-bedroom, 11-bathroom home boasts only the finest finishes, custom built-ins, soaring vaulted ceilings, marble floors, a movie theater, wine room, chef’s kitchen, and a spectacular master suite. Fortunately, the owner can send visitors to the separate guesthouse, so the huge main home doesn’t get too crowded.

12. 73 Palm Ave. – $29.5 million

Just finished, this 14,200 sq. ft. modern-style villa is situated on Miami’s gated Palm Island. It is a Crestron automated smart home that can be purchased completely furnished with all high-end items. The interior is virtually indescribable and includes 9 bedrooms, 10 ½ bathrooms, a custom Italian kitchen and separate top-of-the-line catering kitchen, wine cellar, state-of-the-art home theater, gorgeous built-ins, and a floating staircase. Outside, there is water everywhere, thanks to the ocean, as well as multiple pools and a secluded Jacuzzi. An outdoor kitchen, bar, and expansive sitting space make the backyard even more enjoyable.

11. 212 West Dilido Dr. – $29.5 million

Better known as ‘Casa Clara,’ this 11,600 sq. ft. mansion includes 7 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a private guest wing, a cinema theater, a high-end Boffi kitchen with Gaggenau appliances, two full kitchens, 2-story fireplace, glass wine room, and an interior that merges seamlessly with the outdoors thanks to the huge sliding pocket glass doors that completely disappear. Outside, a dock sits on the 120 ft. of waterfront, while an infinity pool, tanning patio, outdoor dining room, and a surprising amount of green space complete the backyard. In addition to the house, you can also purchase a $15 million Sanlorenzo SD112 yacht and around $30 million worth of art. The total asking price for everything is $74 million.

10. 4567 Pine Tree Dr. – $29.75 million

The creation of world-renowned architect Marcio Kogan, this 14,498 sq. ft. ultra-modern home was constructed using raw materials, including wood, stone, and exposed concrete. In addition to the 6-bedroom, 9-bathroom main house, which has all the luxury upgrades you would expect of a $29 million home, an auxiliary building sits on the property and is ready to be customized to the purchaser’s specifications. The top floor and rooftop terrace look out over the ocean, while the bottom floor opens up to a gorgeous backyard complete with natural swimming pool.

9. 5800 N Bay Rd – $33 million

By now, it should be obvious that N Bay Rd is where the millionaires live. This 12,153 sq. ft. home continues this tradition. Unlike many of the other homes in the area, this home was built in 1929 and had been updated to offer all the modern conveniences, while also being impeccably restored to maintain its original charm. Last purchased in 2015, the owners can take full advantage of the custom chef’s kitchen, 800 bottle wine cellar, home gym, covered terraces, and much more. Outside, the home sits on 200 ft. of Biscayne Bay and features a huge pool and outdoor kitchen. The home was previously featured in The New York Times Style Magazine.

8. 100 La Gorce Circle – $34.9 million

With an impressive almost 2 acres of waterfront land, this 13,000 sq. ft. Georgian-style estate has a lot going for it. Originally built in 1952, the home underwent $5 million in renovations in 2016, though if we’re being honest, it just doesn’t have that spectacular curb appeal of the other homes on the list. Thanks to the renovations, the 7-bedroom, 10-bathroom main house is well updated and includes an out-of-this-world chef’s kitchen. However, it’s the outside that is largely responsible for its high price tag. Outdoors, there is a HydroCourt tennis court, huge pool and hot tub, pool house, adorable playset, and of course, all that water access.

7. 321 Ocean Dr. – $34.999 million

Situated at the top of the exclusive 321 Ocean condominium community, this 13,220 sq. ft. 2-story penthouse recently saw an $18 million reduction in its asking price, meaning if you have the cash, you could get it for a bargain. In exchange, you’ll get 7,000 sq. ft. of interior living space, including 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, as well as a 5,223 sq. ft. private rooftop deck overlooking the Atlantic and the city. Up top, you’ll find a humongous infinity pool, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, and tons of space for entertaining and relaxing. Thanks to living in a condo community, you’ll have access to an elite fitness center, The Ocean Library, 24/7 security and concierge services, and a beach attendant. The monthly condo fee is unlisted, but you can rest assured, it’s expensive.

6. 5004 N Bay Rd. – $35.9 million

Built in 2015 on the former site of Pablo Escobar’s home and being offered with custom-built Italian furnishings, this property is touted as a “one-of-a-kind ultra-luxury, resort-style home.” The 7-bedroom, 10-bathroom home (named “Bakara Sesto Senso”) offers more than 17,000 sq. ft. of living space, including a 3,500 sq. ft. rooftop deck complete with infinity pool, cabana, and outdoor kitchen. Most of the home’s obviously contemporary-styled interior opens out to the outdoors, allowing for beautiful views of the bay. The property leads out the water, where a dock sits. By the way, the home also has a large backyard pool for anyone who doesn’t want to head up to the roof.

5. 1 Star Island Dr. – $37 million

Although once listed for $37 million, this spectacular 2-story, 7,988 sq. ft. estate is available for rent for a mere $85,000 per month. In addition to the 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom main home, there is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom guesthouse. The property sits on a waterfront corner lot, offering unobstructed views of both downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay. Gorgeous tropical palms and foliage, as well as a pool, spa lighted tennis courts, and dock with boat lift, give the backyard a resort-like feel. FYI, this was once the home of Gloria Estefan.

4. 42 La Gorce Circle – $45 million

Located on prestigious (and guard-gated) La Gorce Island, this 16,977 sq. ft. Mediterranean-style estate last sold in 2016, so you aren’t likely to see it on the market anytime soon. Referred to as “Castello del Sol,” the just under 2-acre estate, which has gold-leaf accents, a lagoon-style pool with waterfall and swim-up bar that overlooks the bay, lighted tennis courts, a gym, and several smaller guest houses, could easily be mistaken for an exclusive resort. The interior of the opulently decorated 8-bedroom, 9 ½-bathroom main house boasts a theater, safe room, library, and double chef’s kitchen, as well as hand-painted ceilings, a chandelier-bedecked rotunda, and plenty more gold-leaf accents.

3. 23 Star Island Dr. – $49 million

Back on the appropriately named Star Island, this 1.85 acre estate recently hit the market for the first time since it was built in 1973. Of course all 10,211 sq. ft. have been meticulously updated, so you’ll see no signs of the 70s inside the 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom home. A magnificent 2-story foyer, a game room with wooden beams, huge bedrooms, and custom walk-in closets are just a few of the reasons the home’s interior stands out. Outside, it’s all about the lighted tennis courts, pool with water features, luscious gardens, and 327 sq. ft. of water frontage.

2. 3315 Collins Ave. PH – $60 million

Sold in 2015 for a mindboggling $60 million ($10 million MORE than the original asking price), this 12,516 sq. ft. penthouse sits atop the 18-story Faena House Condo complex. The 2-story condo, which was customized according to unidentified buyer’s specifications, includes 8 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, and views of the Atlantic Ocean from almost every room. An additional almost 10,000 sq. ft. of exterior space is included, thanks to the wraparound terrace and rooftop deck complete with 70 ft. long pool. Of course, the owners get to take advantage of all the luxury amenities that come with living in this swanky building, including 24/7 concierge service and security, an in-house fitness center and spa, a private beach club, and children’s play area. Just how much these amenities cost each month is kept under wraps.

1. 46 Star Island Dr. – $65 million

Currently on the market for the first time in 30 years, this 20,000 sq. ft. historic home underwent a complete renovation in 2016 to completely modernize it, while also making certain to maintain its original 1923 integrity and charm. The 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom home, which is largely considered to be the “most important iconic trophy estate in Dade Broward and Palm Beach” sits on 1.4 acres of prime real estate, including 255 ft. of water frontage. Inside, there are more than 40 rooms, including a ballroom-size 2-story living room, a 3,000-bottle wine cellar, a bar, home gym, a game room, and 3 offices (because whoever buys it will probably need to work to keep up with those mortgage payments). Outside, there are lush gardens, a gorgeous pool with water features, multiple cabanas, an outdoor dining room, and a variety of comfy sitting spots where you can enjoy the panoramic views.
